Snapshots and restore

Create branch snapshots, understand restore impact and verify data afterwards.

Updated View as Markdown

A console backup belongs to a project, branch and timeline. A backup record is not necessarily a standalone downloadable dump or proof that recovery has been tested.

Create a snapshot

  1. Open a project and Backups.
  2. Select the source branch and a creation action offered by the UI.
  3. After completion, check its branch, time and status in the list.

The recovery window and available restore points depend on the current service and plan. These docs do not promise a fixed retention period.

Restore data

Prefer restoring into a new branch when that option suits the task. Before restoring into an existing branch, check the target carefully: its current data may be replaced.

After a successful response, you may need to restart the compute so it uses the restored timeline. Verify the connection and a known data query before returning the application to service. An API response or UI acknowledgment does not replace SQL data verification.

Delete a backup

Deletion removes the listed recovery point. Do not delete the only backup you need to recover. In current source, deleting backup metadata does not guarantee that the physical timeline was cleaned up. Do not interpret a deletion message as proof that storage space was released.

This documentation task did not create, delete or restore real backups. See known limitations.
